New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will miss the upcoming Twenty20 collection towards England after a recurring hip damage flared up, crew officers mentioned on Friday.
Paceman Tim Southee will lead the crew in Williamson’s absence, with the batsman hoping to return for a two-Check collection in late November.
Coach Gary Stead mentioned it was the identical damage that affected Williamson through the Check collection towards Bangladesh in March.
Stead mentioned quick bowler Lockie Ferguson would play the primary three fixtures of the five-match collection then get replaced by Trent Boult.
The collection begins on Friday, November 1, in Christchurch.
The squad: Tim Southee (Capt.), Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Scott Kuggeleijn, Daryl Mitchell, Colin Munro, Jimmy Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Tim Seifert, Ish Sodhi, Ross Taylor and Blair Tickner.
